Keokuck

A shelf for river-town oddities. The name has an extra consonant. The archive does not yet have any witnesses.

Something happened.
Probably.

The archive is empty. Deliberately.

This corner is for local folklore, unusual recollections, and stories from Keokuk and the surrounding river towns. I have not published any accounts here yet. An empty shelf is better than a fabricated witness.

Have a story?

You can write to me through Correspondence. Tell me whether you saw it yourself or heard it from someone else, the approximate date, and the general area. Leave out private addresses and other people’s identifying details.

Sending a message does not publish it or grant permission for a book. If I want to share an account, I’ll ask about permission, credit, and any edits first.

What belongs on the shelf?

Family folklore. Strange observations. Local legends. The story your uncle tells after everyone else has put on their coat. Accounts will be identified as accounts, not treated as proof.

LOST & FOUND

Was it yours?

Unattended thoughts are taken to the nearest notebook. Please use your inside voice. The notebook is easily startled.

Stays in this tab. Nothing is sent or saved.
